Specialty Vehicles

We design and manufacture purpose-built vehicles for special applications.

Since 1975, Crestline has been designing and manufacturing highly-customized vehicles to meet the specific needs of EMS, fire, and police services. From pediatric intensive care ambulances to multi-patient emergency response units, the expertise of our engineers and our production team has developed a reputation for delivering safe, reliable, and performant specialty vehicles to the industry.

Recently, we have focused much of our manufacturing effort on ambulances to reduce lead times and address the current challenges of supplying ambulances to North American EMS. Need a specialty vehicle?

Here are a few considerations to help you define your vehicle characteristics.

We've proven our ability to handle a high level of customization.

Multi-Patient Emergency Response Units

Multi-patient emergency response units have emerged from forward-thinking EMS leaders to solve mass casualty events and emergency incidents. They are fully-equipped ambulances built on a low-floor bus frame. These vehicles feature dual side entry doors with ramps for safe and easy loading and unloading of patients and custom-made seat bunks that can be raised and lowered.

Pediatric Intensive Care Units

Customized neonatal ambulances are purpose-built for safely transporting newborns from their rural or remote communities to intensive care units. Crestline neonatal units can accommodate two patients and four medical staff in addition to a four-person cab for the driver, an extra attendant, and the patient's parents.

Mobile Command Posts

Mobile Communications Units (MCU) will broaden your fleet capabilities by bringing on-site communications into the field. In 2015, Crestline worked with Allina Health EMS to produce a high-tech MCU used across the state by EMS services for on-scene communications during large-scale emergencies, natural disasters, and planned events.

Mobile Patient Simulation Labs

Custom-built patient simulator labs are used for paramedical education and recruiting individuals into healthcare. Simulation labs are fundamental in training, helping to reduce medical errors and improving patient safety. Students receive hands-on experience in a realistic ambulance setting.

Mobile Health Clinics

Mobile health clinics are buses operated by nurse practitioners and registered nurses who provide on-the-spot primary care for people living in rural communities. These custom mobile clinics provide primary care services, such as physical exams, diagnostic tests, immunizations, and referrals.

Special Operations

Bariatric and critical care patients present numerous challenges for EMS personnel, requiring unique ergonomic and safety features to be incorporated into the vehicle design. Crestline has the demonstrated capability to provide vehicle design solutions matched to your patient care and transport needs.
